| Seeing this, there's just no way that Spirited Away isn't in the top ten.
To everyone who loves Miyazaki (like I do), check out the other Ghibli giant Takahata's work as well (and not only Grave of the Fireflies). Frankly speaking, he's even more of a creative genius than Miyazaki and his work is more diverse, but also more uneven. While Miyazaki has had me stunned several times with his fairy tale-ish adventures, never has he left me as amazed, fascinated or simply laughing to the point it hurts as Takahata has. While Miyazaki may be superior in terms of good old storytelling, Takahata certainly wins in terms of imagination and artistic courage. (By the way, Nausicaa isn't Miyazaki's earliest film, Lupin III: Castle of Cagliostro is.)
Also check out A Tree of Palme/Parumu no ki for another interesting take on the Miyazaki-ish adventure tale.
Nice to see the FMA film up there. Very interesting despite its sort of forced dramaturgy. The best part? All the references to German expressionist cinema, and that FRITZ LANG is in it! |

| CLANNAD: The Movie got a decent ranking. Personally I would have chosen it to be higher up in the list, but maybe not many people have seen it. I highly recommend it to anyone's who's seen the anime (but finish both seasons of the series first, as the movie has a major spoiler).
Good work to all the staffers who labored away on this. My public apology for not being around to help out more. I look forward to the top ten results!! |

| Lol of course it's in the top 10. Probably along with Ghost in the Shell, advent children, sword of the stranger
grave of the fireflies, the girl who leapt through time, cowboy bebop the movie, 5 cm per second, kara no kyoukai andmononoke hime. Or something like that XD.
