Spotlight Preview- Kimi ni Todoke
Posted by AJtheFourth on Wednesday, November 11th 2009 |

For the most part, it's been a year of anime where most series are becoming increasingly more complex, throwing as much at you as they possibly can, plus the kitchen sink. If you've read our handy and recently posted 2009 Fall Preview Guide (directly beneath this article on the front page!) it's worth noting that one of the series that took our staff members by storm is none other than one of the simplest of romance stories, found in the new show Kimi ni Todoke.
Is one of the most basic and simple plotlines of the season really worth watching? Join me, Staff Writer AJtheFourth as I delve into the many reasons why Kimi ni Todoke can't be missed!

Xeno's Music Picks 2008-2009

Hey all,
'Tis I, your not-so-local gaijin nerd-boy lost in the mountains of Japan; Xeno-sensei by day, Website Content Administrator xenocrisis0153 by night. I live where anime should dwell, but sadly does not. Err, well, it would if I had cable tv and a decent internet connection. Luckily I still have YouTube and a stash of streaming sites that still allows me to stay current. While I lack the capacity to take screenshots for articles and reviews, I can still do the next best thing... personalized Top 10 lists!!!
Probably won't be a regular thing as I am way too busy looking after the little ones of Japan (plus the GTX: Great Teacher Xeno blog keeps me busy), but every now and then, I can toss up one of these badboys (maybe the other staffers will be inspired to do their own, we'll see). To kick off, since we didn't do a Favorite Anime Music Survey this year, I'm going to present my Top 10 Favorite Anime Songs of the 2008-2009 Season; a countdown of the songs I've enjoyed most over the last few seasons.

DVD Review- Honey and Clover: Boxset One
Posted by AJtheFourth on Sunday, October 4th 2009 |

College. It's much more than pulling all-nighters, drinking, and a word on the late John Belushi's navy blue shirt. No other anime series brings the college experience quite as beautifully or realistically to the small screen as the anime Honey and Clover, which was recently released on DVD.
Is this slice-of-life series that revolves around some crazy art students worth joining your DVD shelf? Join me, Staff Writer AJtheFourth to find out!

Spotlight Preview: Bakemonogatari
Posted by AJtheFourth on Tuesday, August 25th 2009 |

Haven't we all imagined once or twice, what it would be like for that perfect person to magically fall into our arms? (Or magically fall into your perfect person's arms.) Wouldn't it make things that much more interesting if they happened to be haunted by ghosts? This summer's breakout hit, Bakemonogatari, sure seems to think so!

In Depth Review: Eden of the East
Posted by AJtheFourth on Wednesday, June 24th 2009 |

Is 120 billion yen enough to save a country? How about if we divide it among 12 people and give them a cell phone that can make anything possible? What if we add to that a developing relationship and 20,000 NEETs? Confused yet? Join me, Anime-Source Staff Writer AJtheFourth, as I try and uncover the mysteries behind the spring season's breakout hit, Eden of the East.

Spotlight Preview: Cross Game

Amidst the swirling rumors of steroids that are sweeping through baseball culture right now, it's hard to forget what pleasure the game can bring you, especially as a child. If you, like me, Staff Writer AJtheFourth, are feeling disheartened, then there's no better series this season to perk up your spirits, about baseball and life, than Cross Game.
So push aside the sordid affairs of A-Rod and 'Manny being Manny.' Like baseball on its best of days, Cross Game has an amazing amount to offer any viewer, even if you're not into sports at all.

Spotlight Prevew: Eden of the East
Posted by xenocrisis0153 on Tuesday, May 5th 2009 |

|
A new series has emerged for Spring 2009... one so good that it has lured Website Content Administrator xenocrisis0153 out of anime reviewing "retirement" to write a quick article. If you've read the Anime-Source.com Spring 2009 Preview Guide, then you're probably already aware that Higashi no Eden/Eden of the East is the recommended sensation of the season, but if you weren't convinced by the words of the staffers there, then maybe this full preview article will show you the way.
If you're a fan of mystery, drama, action, and romance, or you just love to delve in the beautiousness of what animation today is capable of, then Eden will not disappoint. 11 episodes from Production I.G. deliver a truly engaging mystery heavily related to the Post-9/11 world we all live in, and trying to fix this hellish mess of a world we've all created. May our savior protect us... Noblesse Oblige!!!
